Geo expands network capacity for Denton Wilde Sapte

Denton Wilde Sapte, the global law firm, has chosen Geo to link its new Milton Keynes office to its existing London office with a dedicated 1 Gigabit fibre network.

Denton Wilde Sapte chose a dedicated network as it could provide the necessary security, speed and capacity to fulfil its growing data traffic needs. After thoroughly researching the market, the law firm discovered that a traditional leased line network couldn’t guarantee the capacity that the firm felt was essential. It also discovered that a dedicated network provided a more financially sound investment in the long term, especially in terms of future network upgrades.

“We needed a secure, fast and reliable network to link our new Milton Keynes office at The Pinnacle with our Fleet Place office in London. The nature of our business means that data security is of the utmost importance to us as well as high data speeds,” said David Everitt, IT technical architect and quality manager at Denton Wilde Sapte.

“We explored leased line options with added accelerators to reach the required speeds and uptime, however after researching a dedicated solution we found the security to be better and the price to be comparable. Overall a dedicated network provided a sounder financial investment and the necessary network attributes today and for the future,” added Everitt.

Geo’s London fibre network uniquely routes through the Victorian sewer system, deep below the streets and its national fibre is located alongside the gas network, both significantly minimise any possible disruption as a result of physical fibre damage from surface maintenance.

“Geo has a wealth of experience in the design, build and operation of fibre networks in the UK. We have been able to provide Denton Wilde Sapte with the expertise that comes from building and managing nationally more than 3,000km of network throughout the UK,” said Chris Smedley, chief executive, Geo.

“Dedicated fibre optic networks offer the highest levels of reliability, total control, no sharing or shaping of traffic with the ability to scale up your bandwidth, cost effectively, to as high a level as you need,” added Smedley.
